Mary Hayes Grieco
speaker healer storyteller
"kindling the spirit of peace, purpose, and joy"
Mary Hayes Grieco is a masterful catalyst
of positive change and spiritual enrichment for individuals and
groups who want to experience hope and freedom in their lives, now.
A dynamic philosopher, a pragmatic emotional healer, and a charming
storyteller Mary is dedicated to liberating the joy of the human
spirit, and her events and appearances are always memorable. Based
in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Mary Hayes Grieco has been a respected
and steady presence as a leader in her community for the better
part of twenty years.
Mary’s first book, The
Kitchen Mystic: Spiritual Lessons Hidden in Everyday Life,
is a perennial collection of essays first published by Hazelden
in 1992. Her original material from her most popular seminars have
been published in a four-part audiotape series, The
Kitchen Mystic Series. From 1987-1994 Mary was
the creator and host of a weekly radio program in The Twin Cities,
featuring interviews with local and national leaders in spiritual
thought and wholistic health, and her own unique style of philosophical
discourse. She currently serves on the faculty at The Management
Center of The University of St. Thomas, and is a popular retreat
leader at Hazelden Foundations’s Renewal Center. Her work
place leadership insights have been published in the Journal of
Strategic Performance Measurement.
Mary has shared her insights with the public in a variety of venues
since 1984, and she is a professional member of the National Speakers
Association. Her presentation style is warm, entertaining, and audience
interactive. Mary creates an atmosphere of collaboration and community
in all of her endeavors. She has been certified by Psychosynthesis
International to teach the powerful Unconditional Love and Forgiveness
program, and to train new facilitators in this remarkable healing
process. Mary has taught this weekend workshop over 80 times, assisting
thousands of people in a significant emotional turning point.
In recent years, Mary has been invited to share her work in Northern
Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland, where she is currently training
a growing network of counselors in this potent healing method. She
has also adapted this forgiveness method for the business community
in companies that are going through mergers and other difficult
changes. In October, 2005, Mary established the Midwest Institute
for Forgiveness Training, so that this remarkable work may be carried
forward with new teachers and trainers, and regular opportunities
for members of the public to learn how to forgive.
In her personal life, Mary is committed to a yoga meditation path,
and she loves cooking, gardening, laughing with friends, and all
things Irish. She enjoys quiet and wildlife on her 40 acres in Wisconsin
whenever she can, but mostly dwells in the inner city of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, with her husband Fred and her two daughters: Tara and
Olivia, and her twin granddaughters, Mia and River. She is planning
on becoming totally enlightened and living happily ever after, while
helping others to do the same.
